Stress-busting salvation for busy moms

Even the most organized and carefree moms can get stressed out attimes. As to—do—lists grow and mountains of laundry continue to rise —so can your stress level.

Even the most organized and carefree moms can get stressed out at times. As to—do—lists grow and mountains of laundry continue to rise — so can your stress level.

While the kids always come first, mom's health should never come last. Taking time for yourself recharges the batteries so you can give even more back to your family as well as yourself. Here are a few tips to help fit in some much needed mom time:

Ask for help
When feeling overwhelmed, it's important to raise your hand for help. Kids love spending time with mom, but time with dad is important too. Let the kids spend some quality time with dad while you go shopping or curl up on the couch with a book.

Take a moment for yourself
You don't need a lot of time to treat yourself. Taking small breaks during the day can help lower stress levels and put things in perspective. Quick mental breaks can be as simple as enjoying a hot tea or treating yourself to something sweet. Keeping tea bags and bite—sized chocolate on hand will help encourage you to take those moments for yourself.

Breathe
Do as your yoga teacher tells you and don't forget to breathe. Deep breathing and meditating can help reduce mental and physical fatigue, increase energy levels, and calm your nervous system.

Laugh out loud

All moms are superheroes, but some things are just out of your control. Finding the humour in life's curve balls can help strengthen your immune system, boost your energy and create a happier home for everyone.
