Two student teachers in the Lower Mainland are facing sex charges in separate cases involving underage girls at their schools.

A 22-year-old practicum student was arrested on Thursday after befriending a 15-year-old student at his Abbotsford high school.

Police in that city allege the man and the girl were “together physically” on April 3 and that they continued a “relationship outside school hours.”

Brian William Davis is charged with sexual interference.

Also on Thursday, Michael Herrera, 24, had a scheduled a court appearance after a complaint by a 15-year-old girl at a Surrey high school.

RCMP said a student teacher at the school was “engaged in an inappropriate relationship with her.”
