Students treated to aboriginal culture workshop

Ottawa students continued learning during March Break when a local expert on aboriginal culture gave demonstrations at the Museum of Civilization yesterday.

Ottawa native Pauline Brook showed visitors how to make talking feathers, which are an essential part of aboriginal culture, said Brook, a Métis who has been giving workshops on aboriginal culture for 20 years.

The purpose of the workshop was to show people how to achieve harmony with one another and to celebrate similarities and differences between different cultures while giving children a fun activity at the same time.
