Study to host input on bridge crossing

Area residents can give their input into the Interprovincial Crossings Environmental Assessment Study this week. Today and tomorrow, public consultation sessions will be held in Ottawa and Gatineau.

The study assesses three potential interprovincial bridge locations in the region’s east end, including Kettle Island, Lower Duck Island and Gatineau Airport/McLaurin Bay, and the corridors leading to and from them. It’s being led by the National Capital Commission, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and the ministère des Transports du Québec.

A new bridge will be essential in helping to alleviate transportation issues and will also be a major facilitator for a more integrated economy between both cities.
