Subways forward top-rated Nova Scotian for Q draft

Dartmouth Subways forward Cole Hawes is the top-ranked Nova Scotian for the QMJHL draft in June.

Hawes, a Tangier native, is ranked in the second round, 20th overall, after scoring 21 goals in 37 games.

Other Halifax-area players on the list are Halifax Lions junior A defenceman Ian Saab (4-56); former Subways forward Kody Orr (4-63); Halifax McDonald’s midget goalie Richard Tingley (4-69); Cole Harbour McCain midget blue-liner Brendan Duke (5-77); and Subways forward Cody Peveril (5-81).
