Surplus isn’t an ‘exceptional feat’

Re: "Federal and provincial budgets":

The budgets are all revealed and it is quite clear where both levels of government stand on the unemployable poor. Ignore them and they will go away.

There is money available for trees, roads, rebates for people who have thousands to spend on new cars, families with jobs and kids, but crumbs for the "unemployable poor." All the poverty activists should draw together to present a solid front. The political parties are not fragmented and neither should we.

The finance minister boasts of a budget surplus as "an exceptional feat." Well, this is not so difficult — I could have a very large bank account, too. All I have to do is not live up to my responsibilities.
