We saw it play out on the big screen, but the newest slumdog millionaire is a real as they come. Sushil Kumar is the first winner of $1 million on India's "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?"
The 27-year-old, newly married according to Time Newsfeed, comes from the rural eastern province of Bihar. His brother said Kumar frequently watches BBC programs, a habit that may have helped him answer every question on the show correctly.
Before his big win, Kumar worked as a computer operator for the government, earning about $120 per month, while also tutoring to make some extra money on the side.
He said he plans to use the money to pay off some debt, buy a new home for his family and take a prep course for India's civil service exam in the hopes of securing a better job.
See? Fairy tales can come true.
