Toronto police say a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy has turned himself in.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Sheronnie Thomas and in a news conference yesterday urged him to surrender.
Thomas, 18, is charged with first-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court this morning.
Police say Devonte Gondwe-Prosper was shot in the face Monday when he answered the door at an apartment in the Keele Street and Eglinton Avenue area.
He was pronounced dead at hospital.
Police say they believe the victim and the suspect knew each other and there may have been some kind of dispute between them.
Det. John Biggerstaff has said there is no evidence the shooting was gang related. “What precipitated this act would be between the two of them,” he said.
