Police are looking for a man they say grabbed two bread-cutting knives from the counter of a Subway restaurant in Cole Harbour and proceeded to rob the restaurant.
Halifax RCMP say they were called to the Subway on Forest Hills Parkway at 11:45 p.m. after the man entered the store, grabbed the knives and threatened the lone employee with them. He also demanded cash, police say, and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
A K-9 unit tracked the suspect north, but police say the track disappeared, possibly because a getaway vehicle may have been waiting for him. Police say a witness saw a dark SUV circling the mall area just before the robbery.
Police say the suspect is skinny, five-foot-eight and was wearing a hoodie and dark-coloured pants.
