Police are attempting to piece together events leading up to an apparent weekend abduction.

The suspect and victim of a brazen alleged kidnapping turned themselves in to a Calgary police station yesterday, though investigators are staving off charges, pending determination of what exactly occurred.

Officers were called to an apartment near 97 Avenue and 110 Street around 1 p.m. Saturday.

Upon their arrival, they found a beaten man, who claimed he and his girlfriend were in the apartment when a man knocked on the door and attacked him.

The suspect, who is a former acquaintance of the 22-year-old woman, is alleged to have taken her from the home and forced her into an idling vehicle.
