A man and a woman accused of using their two young children to steal about $3,000 worth of DVDs and Blu-ray discs from a Future Shop have been arrested, Richmond RCMP said.

The pair were identified after Mounties released security camera images of a man and a woman — sarcastically called “Parents of the Year” by police investigators — pushing a stroller into the store.

RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Pound said the children have been placed in the care of their grandparents and the Ministry of Children and Family Development has been advised of the situation.

The parents have been released and their first court appearance is scheduled for May 27.
