Police are looking for witnesses in a fatal collision on April 23.

At about 11:30 p.m. a Lexus and a Mercedes Benz were driving northbound on 66 Street approaching 31 Avenue when they collided with an Oldsmobile being driven by a 16-year-old.

The teenaged driver of the Oldsmobile died from his injuries. The driver and passenger of the Lexus fled the scene on foot, while the 31-year-old driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries and was charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.

Police are looking for anyone who may have seen the crash or who was driving the vehicles beforehand. They’re also looking for the driver of the Lexus and the passenger in the Mercedes.

“A young man’s life was lost,” said Edmonton police Sgt. Gary Lamont. “It is imperative that people with information come forward.”
