Sussex Six to get their day in court

Six environmental activists arrested in December 2007 for delivering lumps of coal to the prime minister’s official residence will be in court on Friday.

The group is requesting that the criminal charges against them be dropped due to the 16-month
delay in bringing their case to trial.

Dressed as Santa and five of his elves, the Sussex Six have been charged with obstructing police while delivering the coal to 24 Sussex Drive in protest of Stephen Harper’s policies during United Nations climate change negotiations in Bali, Indonesia.
