Sweet deals and fine fits at Vintage Clothing Sale

The clothes were made long before she was born, but for Emilie Gamelin, that’s part of the appeal.

The 22-year-old, who likes the way vintage clothing fits her, has been a collector for about seven years.

“I like the classical allure of vintage clothing,” she said.

Thousands of people attended the 26th Vintage Clothing Sale on Sunday.

“Some people, this is what they wear everyday,” said show founder Penelope Whitmore. “It fills my heart to see that they love the clothing the way I have.”

The biggest find of the day?

Early on, a woman bought a fur coat for $30, said Whitmore. “It was mint condition, and she said, ‘I can’t even buy a T-shirt for $30,’ which is true,” Whitmore said.
