With the buzz of spring in the air, designer and SA VA boutique owner Sarah Van Aken brings her environmentally conscious 2011 line to the great outdoors of Sansom Street. The location of the fashion show — aptly titled Nature Worship — mirrors Van Aken’s eco-friendly line, mixing a bit of Mother Earth with a touch of urban chic.
The city street-turned-runway will function as more than just a fashion show. With a list of local vendors and neighboring shops, it’ll be a full-on block party. If you’re feeling lucky, you can enter a raffle that features prizes such as a two-night stay at The Palomar Hotel, five classes at Wake Up Yoga or a $50 gift certificate to SA VA to snatch up those new, fresh designs. Even if you don’t win anything, you’ll know the money for the raffle ticket went to a good place: All of the proceeds will benefit The Career Wardrobe, a nonprofit that provides women in need with professional clothing to help them enter the workforce and succeed.
