Talented youth to put on a show

There is a boatload of talented young people in Ottawa and the cream of the crop is laying it all on the line tonight at the Bronson Centre.

To celebrate International Youth Day, United Way Ottawa’s Youth Action Panel has set up the Youth Got Talent 2009 competition featuring 10 of the most exciting young musical and dance artists in the city.

“People will be very impressed,” said co-ordinator Kelly Paolozzi.

While Ammar Abou-Agena, a 23-year-old beat-boxer and fourth-year biology student from the University of Ottawa, is “looking forward to performing a lot more,” singer-songwriter Kristy Hagerman, who is performing her own song, is already a veteran of talent contests at age 13.
