Calgarians’ taste buds will be delighted this weekend as 11 new restaurants and three new beverage companies join the Taste of Calgary’s lineup this year.

“We have really good restaurants and really, really good food this year,” said producer Sue Van Aalst.

Admission is free, but a single ticket is 75 cents and most samples run between four and five tickets at 45 different food and beverage companies.

Tasters can also buy a 20-ticket taste pack for $15 to make sure they get a bite of everything, from murgh malai tikka to pudin de banana.

“We have a really good lineup on the stage, too. This is a great chance to sample Calgary’s bands for free,” added Van Aalst.

Van Aalst said 52,000 attended last year and this year they expect up to 70,000. Brette Ehalt
