Police say a taxi driver suffered “significant injuries” over the weekend as he returned to his vehicle after being confronted by a group of youths.

The 60-year-old man was picking up a fare on Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth around 6 p.m. Saturday when police say a group of youths began hitting his vehicle.

The driver got out of the car and confronted one of the youths, according to police, and was then assaulted by another young male as he returned to his vehicle.

The injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.
