Calgarians have dug deep into their toy chests to help out Miss Calgary International and her teddy bears of hope campaign.
Miss Calgary International Maryam Hassanvand has collected more than 2,100 teddy bears for children in war torn countries.
“People’s response has been amazingly positive and I just want to say thank you Calgary, I love the people here,” said Hassanvand.
However it’s not only Calgarians helping out, Hassanvand said a couple visiting Calgary from the U.S. wanted to help out and sent her teddy bears from L.A.
Hassanvand still has until July 27 to collect bears and if you want to help you can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
