A 10-year-old boy was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a 13-year-old male allegedly slashed him in the back of the head in an apartment building in the city’s north end Monday.
Police say the incident occurred sometime around 10:45 a.m. in an apartment building located near 119 Avenue and 34 Street.
Police also say a teen boy fled the scene and was later arrested near 118 Avenue and 45 Street.
Charges are pending against the 13-year-old, said police, not commenting on what kind of weapon was used in the alleged attack.
Police won’t comment on whether the two boys were related.
Homicide investigators dealt with a case last December when a seven-year-old boy fatally stabbed his five-year-old brother in their home.
Police never laid charges in the case since the accused “was too young to be held responsible” for the homicide.
