Halifax Regional Police say they arrested a boy late Wednesday night after he walked into a north end Dartmouth home carrying a sawed-off rifle.

Officers responded to the Primerose Street residence just after 11 p.m. “in relation to a group of unwanted males,” police said.

Apparently five teenagers had entered the home, but while most eventually left, one stayed inside. Police said they believe he and a resident of the house know each other.

The suspect will appear in court at a later date to face charges of unlawfully being in a dwelling and several weapons offences.
