Teen charged with attempted murder over robbery and shooting

A 17-year-old male has been charged with the attempted murder of Michael Patriquen Jr., who was shot last November at a house in Lower Sackville.

The 17-year-old, who can’t be identified, is the second person charged with attempted murder in the case.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 11, Patriquen Jr., 25, was found suffering from a single gunshot wound at 93 Orchard Dr. A short distance from the scene, Sergio Davidson Bowers of Lower Sackville, now 20, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and robbery.

Bowers was arrested after attempting to flee the scene in a vehicle, which he jumped out of. Police say the 17-year-old charged also fled the scene in a vehicle, a chase the RCMP pursued until it was deemed too dangerous to continue.

The RCMP continued their investigation and have now charged the 17-year-old, who was arrested Saturday while already detained at the Waterville youth facility. He faces seven charges, including robbery, wearing a disguise and flight from police. He will be arraigned Monday in Nova Scotia Provincial Youth Court.
