Teen faces bank robbery charges

A young offender faces charges after police investigated three bank robberies and one attempted bank robbery that they believe to be linked.

The incidents occurred at the TD Canada Trust in the 1700 block of Kilborn Avenue and the Scotiabank at the Beacon Hill Mall on April 8, and the TD Canada Trust branches in the 300 block of Richmond Road and the 2600 block of Innes Road on May 29. There were no injuries in any of these incidents.

Police arrested a suspect Tuesday and charged him with three counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit a criminal offence. The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking a second suspect.

A 17-year-old male appeared in court Wednesday.
