Teen who died in Capilano fall ignored warnings: RCMP

The 17-year-old boy who fell to his death from a viewing platform near the Capilano Suspension Bridge on Sunday ignored cautionary signs, a verbal warning and a protective barrier, said North Vancouver RCMP yesterday.

Daniel Cho, of San Mateo, Calif., had been advised to stay within the barriers earlier that day, but did not heed the admonition, the RCMP added in a statement.

The rail that surrounds the viewing platform is about 1.2-metres tall.

The Mounties also noted that foul play has been ruled out in this case, and that the investigation is now in the hands of the B.C. Coroner’s Office.
