- To skate for free outdoors: Olympic Plaza. Bring the skates and the kids for some outdoor fun under the lights and night sky — for free.

- Snowboard or ski within the city limits: Canada Olympic Park. Snowboard or ski and enjoy some family time. Hills for different levels.

-View a Christmas light display: Calgary Zoolights. The zoo transcends the night into a light display amongst the sleeping animals.

-Catch some hockey: Saddledome — Flames or Hitmen. Whether it’s NHL or WHL, the Saddledome has lots of exciting hockey for everyone.

-Christmas shop: Balzac Mall. It has various feature shops and things to do just outside the city and lots of parking.

-Catch a holiday production: Theatre Calgary – A Christmas Carol. Everybody’s favourite holiday Scrooge is playing until Dec. 27.
