The benefits of fidgeting

Thirty minutes of daily fidgeting, or ‘incidental physical activity,’ could reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and benefit heart and lung health, say scientists from Kingston University, Ontario.

Walking to and from the kitchen to make a cup of coffee, going over to a colleague’s desk rather than emailing — these count as light exercise and in the long term can even contribute to weight loss.

However, duh: They doesn’t serve as replacements for workouts.
