METRO

Thanks to generous donations from readers like you, Tony’s Metro Magic has already collected an abundance of toys for local children in need. And as our annual holiday toy drive comes to a close, we wanted to offer one last reminder that it’s not too late to donate.

This is the tenth year Metro newspaper has held the toy drive, which was named after our late Editor-in-Chief and the drive’s creator, Tony Metcalf. Our Boston Metro Magic toy drive recently ended, however our drives in New York City and Philadelphia are still open, but not for long. In fact, Friday is the last day to order toys for NYC children. Philadelphia’s drive closes on Sunday.

“We have received many packages from you all, thank you so much!!” said Jessica Rojas of New York’s Coalition from the homeless, which is where NYC’s Metro Magic donations are shipped. In addition to toys, donations of bedding, coats and diapers are also needed, and are available on our customized Target wish lists.

Philadelphia’s donations will go to the Institute for the Development of African-American Youth (IDAAY).
