MetroWeen’s Trumpkin contest winner: Paint and wheat take the gold

MetroWeen is here, and it’s as haunted as we’d hoped.

In response to Metro’s call for photos of hand-carved Trumpkins, Metro.us reader Phet Lew of Lorton, Virginia, submitted her interpretation of President Donald Trump as a Halloween jack-o’-lantern. Her festive pumpkin features a head full of blond wheat and an unbeatable painted face. This expressive Trump pumpkin took most of the votes in our Metro U.S. editorial office.

For those who don’t know, a “Trumpkin” is simply a Halloween jack-o’-lantern carved to resemble President Donald Trump. It was a tough call, but in the end, Lew’s choice of a wheat toupée “trumped” the others.

Above, you’ll find a photo of Lew’s winning pumpkin, which the Metro staff has dubbed “Toupée Trump,” as well as the impressive runners-up, which are in this order:

#2 Toffee Trumpkin, by Treva Bice Kilcoyne

#3 Trick-or-Treat Trumpkin, by Manuel Roman

#4 Toothy Trumpkin, by Timothy Daily

#5 Twilight Trumpkin, by Stephanie Geyer

Happy haunting!
