The brain behind the campaign

He’s credited as the mastermind of the most successful U.S. presidential campaign in recent history.

But as U.S. president-elect Barack Obama gets ready to take office next week, David Plouffe, who is not part of the presidential transition team, says he has no intention of joining the administration.

Instead, he’s turned to the public speaking circuit and writing, with plans to author a book called The Audacity To Win about his strategies in the 2008 campaign. Plouffe laid out some of the campaign successes during yesterday’s speech at the Economic Club of Canada in Toronto that at times seemed aimed almost entirely at political junkies. He credited most to that success to technology

“Technology was the driver for us … the way we used it to deliver our message to people,” Plouffe said.
