And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead are one of those bands you either love or hate. They’ve amassed a following with their over-the-top epic rock songs, but grandiose guitars and soaring pianos aren’t for everyone. Their latest sounds similar to their past releases, but without a major backing them this time around, the group seems freer to expand on their progy noise-rock sound. If you don’t mind six minute-plus tunes and a heavy dose of distortion then this will be a great listen (especially Halcyon Days), but it’ll be tough to swallow for everyone else.
