This Saturday, hundreds of urban adventure racers will put their mettle to the test as the world’s largest urban adventure series returns to Ottawa.

As part of City Chase, 400 teams of two will rely on their own two feet and public transportation to take on challenge after challenge across the city.

“They will likely do more in six hours than their friends and family will all summer,” said event spokeswoman Lauren Habib.

“It’s a scavenger hunt, but with physical, intellectual and adventure challenges,” she said, likening it to the Amazing Race and Fear Factor.

Although this year’s tasks are carefully guarded secrets, in past years, contestants rappelled from buildings, shot paint balls, ate raw oysters and took on professional fencers.
