The Courtyards brings calm

Urban chic abounds without pretention at The Courtyards of Upper Forest Hill, located steps away from Forest Hill Village.

The model suite, decorated by designer Enza Checchia of Decorenza, shows off the fact that contemporary elegance and cozy living can exist in harmony together.

Its a very calm, inviting space. Its urban chic for a younger person buying their first space but wanting a little bit of chic in there. Its not pretentious at all but without sacrificing that urban elegance, Checchia said.

The living area features a very slick, minimalist look with plenty of layered creams and whites, silver highlights and clean lines that exude an art-deco feel. Cream leather couches and an impressive, arching floor lamp provides a unique take on modern style. Laminate flooring gives the entire model suite design a contemporary tone as well. Its all a part of creating a space that impresses while still feeling like a retreat from the everyday.

We wanted to give the suite that sharp look of organization without feeling cluttered. Theres definitely an awe factor, the sense that your day is over and you can just come home and be enveloped in a sense of freshness, to have a sense of being welcomed home, Checcia said.

The kitchen features stainless steel furniture and wood cabinetry accented with silver handles for a striking yet still cozy look. Speckled grey granite countertops throughout are flanked by an almost invisible white-tiled backsplash, letting light reverberate throughout the kitchen area to create a bright, energetic mood.

The master bedroom takes bright and airy to a new level with layered white tones throughout including white furniture. With light maximized in the space, Checchia says the effect of hard corners is lessened creating a spa-like feel. There’s a kind of floating feeling because there are no hard edges, just a soft feeling, almost like a spa, Checchia said.
