The feathers will fly at city pillow fight

Feathers will fly this April when Calgarians get together for a pillow pummelling party.

Calgary will be joining 50 cities around the world to celebrate International Pillow Fight Day for the first time.

“We’re hoping to partially replace passive experiences like watching television,” said Candice Vallantin, the event’s organizer.

“We hope these unique happenings in public space become an important part of popular culture. The result?is?a?world where people are constantly organizing and attending these events in communities of all sizes and cultures.

“But mostly, it’s just about meeting fellow citizens and having fun.”

Montreal, Vancouver and Quebec City are also taking part in the festivities.

Calgary’s friendly fight will take place at 2 p.m. on April 4 at Tomkins Park at 17th Avenue and 8th Street SW.
