If you were to take the best aspects of a trendy coffee shop, a made-to-order soup and sandwich shop, a hot meal deli and a fast food joint, mix them up and then throw in a decent wine menu and random entertainment nights, what would you get? The Main Dish, of course!
Located in up-and-coming Bridgeland, this unique establishment which caters to many different cravings. For lunch, The Main Dish offers a changing hot meal menu which on this day consisted of a stuffed pepper and a stir fry, among others. Visit the next counter and you are faced with a selection of sandwiches, soups and salads all offered in a variety of combinations. Even the sandwich can be ordered as a wrap or on a roll, bread or a bun. No matter how large your appetite, The Main Dish can match it with it’s different menu options.
With all of these choices swimming in my head I ordered an Italian Sandwich on a roll with a side of Caprese Salad ($8.99).
If I had to find a downside to The Main Dish it would have to be its size — the seating is limited during the lunch rush. The fact that they’re busy is a testament to the good food. It is for this reason that I recommend eating here for a more social, fun setting as it may be a little too cozy for a power lunch meeting. The Main Dish has many valuable traits; it’s trendy, healthy, energetic, fresh and tasty.
