We’ve entered the era of the player pensioner with men like Hugh Hefner, Paul McCartney and Woody Allen showing they’ve still got a way with young women. With that in mind, we check out the style and the WAGS of our Viagra-fuelled geriatrics.
Ronnie Wood, 64
Style: The craggy-faced, raven-haired Rolling Stone may look like he’s been exhumed from a Goth cemetery but that hasn’t stopped him dating a string of 20-something stunners. Since splitting with 32-year-old Brazilian beauty Ana Araujo, the ’60s rocker has been spotted with a curvy blonde, as well as blowing £13,000 ($21,000 CDN) at a recent charity auction to win a three-way dinner date with Scarlett Johansson.
Woody Allen, 75
Style: None, unless you count the baggy sweaters. His affair with his wife’s adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn, 41, while married to then wife Mia Farrow, is the stuff of an Allen movie. Judging by his latest movie, Midnight in Paris, he still hasn’t satiated his lust for young women and a steamy affair.
Hugh Hefner, 85
Style: Old school dandy. Think: Burgundy tuxedo jacket and white shirt. At 85, Hugh seems to have found solace in plastic fantastic playmate Anna Sophia Berglund, following his breakup with fiancée Crystal Harris. But what does the 25-year-old see in him?
Paul McCartney, 69
Style: Dodgy moptop hair and slovenly tailoring. He’s rock royalty (being a former Beatle and all) with more than £500 million (CDN$800 million) in the bank; this is one Scouser with sex appeal. Thankfully, the new Mrs. McCartney, Nancy Shevell, is no money-grabber. We reckon the All You Need Is Love singer’s recent nuptials to the New York haulage heiress should see him through to his final curtain call.
