Police have arrested a man for allegedly shoplifting from a Nanaimo Wal-Mart and shoving over a 99-year-old shopper, breaking the victim’s hip.
Robert Wesley Russell, 27, has been charged with theft and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
His alleged victim underwent surgery and will remain in hospital for “some time” because of complications, police say.
