The final instalment of more than 100,000 Olympic tickets, including hotly anticipated events like gold-medal hockey and the opening and closing ceremonies, go on sale Saturday.

The tickets are for city events and include all hockey games. Tickets for curling are available for nine of 12 possible Team Canada preliminary and medal-round matches.

Tickets to Nordic and alpine events in Whistler are no longer available because of transportation issues.

The third instalment of tickets was supposed to have been sold last weekend, but was delayed because of technical issues with VANOC’s ticket service provider.

According to VANOC, experienced difficulties with the configuration between the virtual waiting room and the ticketing transaction site.

Caley Denton, VANOC’s vice-president of ticketing, said in a release Thursday that configurational issues have been resolved.

“We’re confident we’ll see strong demand when tickets go on sale Saturday,” Denton said.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. at Prospective purchasers will be placed in a virtual waiting room and will be randomly selected to enter the ticket site.

Once in, people can purchase up to four separate events with a limit of four to eight tickets per event.
