Two youth are facing charges with police looking for a third “person of interest” in the attempted murder of a Clayton Park man from earlier this week.

A 17-year-old male from Timberlea and a 16-year-old female, who has family in the Sackville area, were both arrested by HRM police in Truro on Wednesday.

The male is facing charges of accessory after the fact of attempted murder, drug possession and theft and possession. Police allege drugs were found on the youth during his arrest. The female is charged with theft and possession.

Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter says the case took a step forward after the victim’s vehicle, which was stolen, was found abandoned in Montreal on Monday afternoon — roughly 24 hours after the 37-year-old victim was found in his 200 Willett St. apartment suffering from severe head injuries after being severely beaten.

Palmeter says speaking with the victim, who is still recovering in hospital, also “was instrumental in leading to the arrests.”

Palmeter says the two youths recently returned to the province from Quebec.

He alleges they were in the car that went to Montreal.

As for a third person sought, Palmeter describes him as a “person of interest” and believes he was involved in the assault.
