The Third Wall Theatre Company hopes to put on Shakespeare’s As You Like It as audiences will like it.
The show, which begins Feb. 4, will be a contemporary update of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy, with all the lines of dialogue intact, but with sets and music suited to a modern setting.
“It’s Shakespeare’s greatest play about love and marriage,” said director Charles McFarland. “It was an obvious pick, it’s a sunny, happy, Valentine’s Day kind of play.
“We’re not trying to be over intellectual,” said McFarland. “We want to get any snob factor out and just get people to come and have a good time.”
The play features a cameo performance from former Ottawa Rough Rider, WWE wrestler, and Team 1200 radio personality Glenn Kulka as Charles the Wrestler.
