Alison Greene was among the thousands of friends, teammates, and family members who filled Scotiabank Place Wednesday to share their memories of Daron Richardson, the daughter of the Ottawa Senators assistant coach Luke Richardson.
“I miss her a lot but I know that she’s in a better place now,” said Greene.
Richardson died Saturday from her injuries following an attempted suicide. The family held an open memorial to celebrate her life.
“They wanted to make something good happen out of a tragedy and be able to raise the awareness on teen suicide," said Ottawa Senators president Cyril Leeder.
General manager Bryan Murray said the Senators were devastated by the news and they reorganized their schedule to support the Richardson family.
