Thousands log on to live webcam in anticipation of birth of baby eagles

An eagle couple in Delta are the latest B.C. animals to become Internet stars.

A live web camera — with night vision — has been set up near their nest as thousands of people have been logging on in wait for the pair’s two eggs to hatch.

Karen Bills, project co-ordinator for the Hancock Wildlife Foundation, told Metro it could happen “any day now.”

“You can see the eagle getting up and doing her thing, squirming around, moving the eggs,” Bills said. “There’s even a spider, we call it Miss Charlotte, who has set up a web by the camera.”

The live camera is at www.hancockwildlife.org.
