Three people were shot in West Vancouver following a powwow, police said yesterday.
The shooting occurred late on Saturday night outside the annual Squamish Nation powwow on Homulchsen, the Capilano Reserve.
The three injured were “believed to be alert and conscious,” according to West Vancouver Cpl. Fred Harding.
One has been treated and released, while the other two remain in hospital.
The Squamish Nation powwow that began on Friday is one of the largest in the province.
The incident occurred on the eve of an annual anti-violence and sex abuse rally.
Investigations are still ongoing and West Vancouver police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
