Police are looking for three men in connection with a late-night shooting in Fairview.
Halifax Regional Police responded to 80 Rufus Ave. just before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, after receiving reports of a shooting.
Police say two men carrying handguns and one with a bat forced their way into a multi-level apartment, demanded cash, and shot a 45-year-old man in the shoulder.
The victim’s wound was not life-threatening. Three other people who were in the apartment at the time were uninjured.
The intruders then fled the building and are believed to have left the scene in a waiting vehicle.
Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said the incident is not believed to be random and the victim is known to them.
A woman who lives in a neighbouring building said she heard the gunshots, followed by a woman’s scream. Another neighbour said he was asleep during the shooting, but heard police arrive.
A man who identified himself as the operator of the site refused to comment yesterday when contacted by Metro.
