Ottawa police have charged three young people following an armed robbery at the Navan Food Centre Sunday night.
Police said Tuesday that three suspects, one armed with a handgun, robbed a store in the 3600 block of Navan Rd. The suspects made off with cash and cigarettes.
There were no injuries.
Responding patrol officers located the suspects in the area a short time later and recovered a BB gun.
The charges for the three — ages 14, 14 and 15, all from Ottawa — include robbery and conspiracy. One 14-year-old has also been charged with pointing a firearm and possession of weapons dangerous to the public. The 15-year-old has also been charged with possession of weapons dangerous to the public and carrying a concealed weapon.
The suspects were released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
