Writer Diablo Cody (Juno) tries her hand at teen horror with this gory, mean-spirited, wannabe satire that’s not half as clever (or scary) as it seems to think it is.
The material it mines has already been perfected with films like the still prickly Heathers and the “monsters as metaphor for menstruation” werewolf classic, Ginger Snaps.
Still, though Cody’s snotty, faux–hip dialogue grates, star Megan Fox is both effectively sexy and sickening as the possessed, literally man-hungry cutie.
