The Men Who Stare At Goats
Rating: **** 1/2

George Clooney is disarming as a retired psychic soldier who served secretly in the U.S. military and is now roaming the deserts of Afghanistan, bottle in hand, apparently out of his mind.

Ewan McGregor is a small-town newspaperman covering the war to prove to his estranged wife he’s — well, he never says.

This under-functioning duo embarks on a mad road trip armed with the power of “remote viewing” and the ability to stop a goat’s heart by staring at it — the result of, as it turns out, Soviet disinformation.

A hell of a romp, hilarious, intelligent, and heartbreaking.
