The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee
Rating:
*** 1/2

Rebecca Miller wrote and directed this quirky domestic drama based on her own novel, and fills it with heavy-hitters Robin Wright Penn, Julianne Moore, Keanu Reeves, Alan Arkin, Blake Lively, Maria Bello, Winona Ryder and Monica Bellucci.

Miller weaves a dense tapestry that pulls together disparate chapters in Pippa’s life to discover how things got the way they are.

Even as Pippa welcomes a new “easy” life in the retirement community with her much older and ailing husband, embracing servitude and mindless perfectionism, her old foe anxiety threatens to blow it all up.

Miller deftly navigates a complex web of people and events with considerable charm, imagination and insight.
