Tigers add star QMJHL blue-liner

The Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey team has recruited high-scoring QMJHL blue-liner Benoit Gervais.

The six-foot-three 204-pounder was second in QMJHL defence scoring last season with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, piling up 17 goals and 45 assists for 62 points in 62 games.

Gervais joins former P.E.I. Rocket teammate, goalie Bobby Nadeau, in Dal’s 2009 recruiting class.

The Tigers could use a boost. They’ve missed the playoffs the past five seasons and have lost 113 of 140 games.
