A citizen tip led officials to arrest a 17-year-old wanted for attempted murder as he exited a bus Monday night in Manitoba.

Insp. Keith Cain said a tip to investigators in Calgary spurred police to call Manitoba RCMP and arrest the teen without incident as he stepped off a bus in Portage la Prairie, Man.

“This is a perfect example of how one phone call to the police can result in an arrest,” Cain said, thanking the public for the information.

The teen is one of two suspects wanted for two counts of attempted murder in relation to a pipe bomb attack in the city’s northeast on the weekend.

Police have extended the warrant for 24-year-old self-professed Aryan Guard member Kyle McKee to Canada-wide.

“We’re interested in getting him under arrest for his own safety, as well as the safety of anyone he may choose to harm,” Cain added.

If anyone has information about McKee’s whereabouts, they are asked to call police.
