‘Tit-for-tat’ behind fire, stabbing, say police

Police say an early morning fire and stabbing at the same northeast home was a case of “tit-for-tat”.

Duty Insp. Keith Pollock said two officers were treated for minor injuries and smoke inhalation when they responded to a fire just after 1:30 a.m. yesterday in the 4700 block of Rundlehorn Drive NE.

“There were three or four roommates who had gotten into an argument and one man was slightly stabbed, and the other roommate took exception to that and set a fire,” Pollock said.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire to a bedroom before it spread.

The stabbing victim is recovering in hospital and the suspect was placed under arrest. The officers have been treated and released.
